(I'm perpetually tired-looking... LIFE!)

I grew up sewing small projects with my Mom, but I've always been a project beginner, never a finisher. Every blanket I've made, my mother did the binding and finishing... and many many other projects just never got finished. The few that did reach the finish line were pretty sad.

I'm learning, and I'm falling in love. This blog started because I wanted to show my Mom the process and progress on a surprise Christmas present I made for her. I call her numerous times during a project, and show her each step to ensure I'm not making any major mistakes, so undertaking the surprise Christmas gift was quite a challenge... I have the hardest time keeping secrets and was unable to ask her for advice or help! Thank you thank you for youtube.com and ehow.com, not to mention the (literally) hundreds of blogs that have come to my aid. I've learned so much through the knowledge of others, and maybe this little blog will contribute to someone else learning someday.

A little about me... I'm Carly. I'm a young, married, mommy of 2, photographer/small business owner, and I love decorating, baking and SEWING! I'm on my way to the domestic goddess I hope to be... yeah, right! hahaha :)
